Mass and Weight Gainers – Do You Need Them?
I often see people who classify themselves as “hardgainers” ask if they need “weight” or “mass gainers”, thinking one of these supplements will help them put on more muscle mass.
What “Mass” Are You Going To Get?
But do these supplements really help you gain muscle? Or will you just gain a much different kind of mass? In this video we’ll examine these questions and also have a look at an alternative to commercial mass gainers:

Nice and well explained video.
CG, you just scared the hell out of me!
Thanks for your videos, Evil. You continue to motivate me since I first found them on youtube.
Years ago in college, I really screwed up my weight. I had unrealistic expectations, and with a free meal plan, I ate as much as I could. I did make considerable progress in six months, but after I injured my wrist, I didn’t fix my habits and it all turned to fat!
I hope people take your advice to heart, because the loss in self-confidence that came with simply getting fat because I thought I was a “hard-gainer,” really did damage to my life.
Ryan, I know exactly where you are coming from and it’s great to hear you are back on track!
I love your common sense videos! I am just wondering, when you put the oats in the blender, how do grind them fine enough to mix well enough to drink? I tried it but couldn’t get them any smaller than the size of grits which stayed in the bottom of my blender. Thanks in advance for any tips.
Heah Glen, thanks for the kind words! You may try those really soft oats that practically dissolve by themselves when you put them in milk. Language barrier, here I come: I could tell you exactly what they are called in German, but can’t for the life of it find the English equivalent. I think it’s called “instant oatmeal”:

Those ground a little better but what helped most was changing from a blender to a $20 coffee grinder. It grinds them to just a bit thicker than flour.
