It’s a misconception that fitness takes a gym membership or equipment. Try these body weight exercises that train your muscles and your heart!

Bear Crawls

They look strange, I know. But bear crawls are a dynamic move that gets your entire body in motion in a way it hasn’t done since, oh, since you were toddler.

Ok, there are those of you who had to get home from the pub the other night.

Pull-Ups

Despised, loathed, outright hated. But pull-ups are the Swiss knife of back exercises, training the back, shoulders, biceps and forearms. Which is why they’re a staple for anyone who takes his workouts seriously.

Push-Ups

Because both train so many muscles, push-ups together with pull-ups are a complete upper body training.

Planks

Planks look boring, but you engage the entire core to stabilize the body.

Spiderman

If you want that more difficult, try the Spiderman. It’s done from a push-up position, but what you do is a lot of stabilizing with the ab muscles.

Jumping Jacks, Mountain Climbers and Burpees

Now let’s move to some cardio fitness that doesn’t require any equipment and can be done at home.

Jumping Rope

With a bit of rope, you can do some truly exhausting fitness.

Crunches

Crunches are the #1 exercise to hit the ab muscles with. Just keep in mind they don’t magically make your gut go away.

Box Jumps

For something very dynamic, box jumps are great. Start (literally!) small on this one!

Dips

These dips work the triceps, shoulders and a bit of the chest.

Organize Them In A Workout!

Love it! “If you want that more difficult, try the Spiderman” I always do the easier version of everything as I am obese, but I do the Spiderman instead of climbers because I have to get my knee around my tummy. I can’t wait to tell my trainer that they aren’t called climbers when I do them any more.

    Hello,
I’ve recently been looking at Sandows light weight work out and trying to get an idea of how to go about it…
I was trying to search on your site for more info on
Whether same concept of his could be used to just use body weight work outs and get similar results?
The problem I’m having is if I were to do push ups,
I’d obviously be using more then 2 to 5 pounds doing so on the ground..
Should I do wall push ups and get mind body connection going this way? And then maybe adding more reps as I go along?
Basically trying to figure if I could do what he says only using body weight in short.
