How To Do Shrugs Correctly
So you want to have bigger neck muscles? Shrugs are the best exercise to directly target the area, but you have to do them correctly. Here is how.
Shrugging It Off
I’m not that big a fan of exercising the neck or, more precisely, upper trapezius muscle, as you too easily end up with the drooping shoulders look.
However, some people do tend to be underdeveloped in that area. And if you think that your neck visually doesn’t fit with your shoulders or chest, then shrugs are the easiest way to solve the problem:
When It’s Enough
Once more: the upper trapezius readily responds to training. When you feel yours is big enough, you should go into maintenance mode. Which means exercising it every second month and / or staying with the same weight and reps. Either or a combination of both does the trick.

Thats good, but you can also do Deadlifts which is really really awesome for big traps, and ive read that doing shrugs each day every day can also provide some good results. Cheers,Vince.
