Best Cardio For Weight Loss
What is the best cardio for weight loss? Running? Cycling? HIIT? Or something completely different? The answer is very simple.
Cardio Exercises For Weight Loss
I get the question about the ideal cardio activity for losing weight or fat about once a week and because I see it this often, I thought we might as well address it in a video.
My answer usually is the same, because the vast majority of people asking me neglect the most important thing they should take into account making up their minds:
Yep, thinking that the form of fitness that worked for someone else on their weight loss journey is the one that should also do the trick for you can get you nowhere.ย Who you are, what you like to do, any medical history that may keep you from doing certain things – all those shouldn’t be neglected.
As said in the video, here is a detailed explanation about intensity and cardio, which will also guide you in getting started. If you want to go in-depth, this one explains the basics of the HIIT I mentioned in the video, and if you wonder about the ideal time for cardioย you can find it discussed here.
Cardio Is No Magic Kcal Burner!
Last but not least, we also have to mention another very crucial thing when you want to do cardio for weight loss: you can easily outeat your cardio.
You can burn more than 500 kcal with an hour of running, yes, but eating the same amount takes you around five minutes. Without controlling my daily calories I would have never managed to lose weight. What I burned from running during that time I just used to give me a bit more leeway in my daily food choices.

I agree – if you don’t like it, you ain’t gonna keep it up. I am not a fan of cardio but I do quite a bit due to just the way my bid is.. always has been this way. AND right on about you can’t out-train a bad diet!!! Another thing is some can’t do HIIT due to joint or feet issues so… find what works for you! ๐
Absolutely! Especially HIIT I often see done by beginners who heard that it burns more calories, but they often have no idea how to judge how far they should be pushing themselves.
Heck! I got 60%, does it mean that I passed?
Yep! But you should read up a bit! ๐
^ My bad, that would be my comments at “The Neat Little Workout Supplement Quiz”.
I think kettle bells are a good workout for weight loss. It’s both cardio AND weight lifting!!
But if someone is just looking for cardio to lose weight, my recommendation is swimming. I’m biased, of course, because I love swimming so much. But it’s such a fantastic workout, burns a lot of calories, easy on the body and it helped me lose 100 pounds. ๐
Yes, swimming is excellent! For someone untrained, it also is practically a full body workout!
