I find it odd that science would consider turning to a genetic disorder as a solution for obesity. It just takes good nutrition and self control. It is rather sad that society has become so lazy, that they would rather turn to anything that would let them continue to eat their twinkies. The majority of humans would rather fix the problem after it already happened, and through harder and potential dangerous means. It would be so much simpler to just educate students in school on proper nutrition and exercise from the very beginning. I know my public school did not though, they gave us gym once or twice a week, where we spent time doing attendance, and gave us junk food like pizza for lunch. So, we are a backwards race.
