In reply to <a href="https://evilcyber.com/nutrition/cardio-nutrition/comment-page-1/#comment-7127">Mammoth King</a>.

Hahaha, nice thinking! :D

However, the problem is that your training will most likely be worse and you will arrive at the run with less conditioning under your belt.

But I know what you are getting at and indeed there is a method that supposedly allows you to store more carbs, it's called "carb loading". Pretty soon I will do an article on that as well :)

Hey Evil! I was wondering about something. Let's assume that approximately six months from now, I'm about to undertake a pretty serious cardio challenge. Let it be a marathon. If I go on a low-carb diet for a few weeks before the challenge, and then load up on carbs again the week/couple of weeks before the race, could my chances of a good result increase?

I mean, if I'm used to run on a low supply of carbs, and might have reached good results with such a diet, shouldn't I be a cardiac beast when I go back to a higher level of carbs? :D

I do best with nothing in my system... Serially, I do better if I fast for 16-24 hours than if I eat in the hours before a run, my body is freaky.
