Feline Fitness Friday
Here is the fitness special for the special day of our feline companions!
Today Is World Cat Day
You didn’t know? As there is a day for practically everything (including Geek Pride Day and the International Bacon Day), not having one for cats would be an insult to our feline companions, wouldn’t it?
And not honoring it wouldn’t have been a wise move on my behalf, given they know mind control and us owning four of them.
But how could I get cats and fitness connected? So far I only noticed them being really good at yoga. Here is our Paula doing the “vibrating bamboo” pose:
Otherwise, judging by my experience, their days consist of 20 hours of sleep, interspersed by short distance high intensity running to be the first one at the food bowl.
Hydrocat
But I can’t really fault them. What’s a cat to do when we don’t take their efforts serious?
Magic Bowl Movement
Would you feel encouraged being turned into nation-wide laughing-stock? What they need is incentive.
Felirobics
If that doesn’t work, easy group aerobics are a good start.
Intra-Species Sabotage
Then again, cats aren’t really great at cooperation.
Inter-Species Cooperation
In that case, a well-trained can opener is the better workout partner.
What They Otherwise Think Of Your Fitness Efforts
In general: boring.
Have A Nice World Cat Day!
Give them an extra treat and enjoy your weekend!

I was never a cat person until this feral little very young black calico came to my door a few years ago and picked me! Now we are bonded. I am yet to completely understand the kitty mind, but we have worked out most of our trans-species differences. She is my first cat and I am her first person 🙂
Thanks for this, EC!
I never knew you had a cat! 🙂
Darn I was really counting on you to show me a way to motivate my lazy cat. He owns every cat toy known to man. He finds them interesting to look at and bat a couple times but, then it is time for another nap.
When I had a field mouse in the house he just looked at it while I screamed at him.
If I can’t look to you for help I guess I am going to have to turn to my second chose guru … Google!
Oh, I tried to discuss “in the wild, cats have to find their own food” a couple of times with ours. They think I’m making it up!
